A little backstory, palm oil is widely used by multiple popular brands. However, when talking about third party supply chains, palm oil farms often use child labor as a way to save money by either not paying these children or lowering the wages.
You need to know what your third parties are doing from an ESG perspective because it can create reputational risk within your company. Many of the brands that use palm oil have been drilling down to make sure these acts are not happening.
