Navigating the “zone of no” is challenging in the best of times.
Compliance and risk professionals get a bum rap for being the place where dreams go to die. The fact of the matter is that we often have to land difficult messages and get buy in when we are developing controls that may not be “popular.” These skills- finding ways to get buy-in for measures that create safer and values driven outcomes- have never been more needed than now.
As we contemplate how to prudently make decisions in the new #covid19 environment, risk-based/values-driven decisions, training, policies and procedures, testing and monitoring, controls enhancements, etc. are all critical.
Compliance and risk professionals have a lot of hard won expertise to lend to these discussions and can use those skills strategically for the betterment of our organizations and for improved community outcomes.
What are you giving of yourself skills now?
